Typical Accountabilities- Provide specialized Biostatistics expertise and services by managing global processes, ensuring efficient utilization of systems, and coordinating interfaces with global organizations. - Develop and implement the Biostatistics strategy, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and priorities.- Define and contribute statistical findings, clinical data summaries and authors key elements of all regulatory submission dossiers. - Offer insights and recommendations to the global clinical development strategy for broad therapeutic areas from a Biostatistics perspective, ensuring statistical considerations are fully optimized. - Lead, mentor, and develop the Biostatistics team within the assigned area to achieve objectives, ensure regulatory compliance, and foster professional growth. - Oversee the performance of senior managers, identify development opportunities for direct reports, and strategically plan for succession to ensure leadership continuity. - Direct or oversee initiatives aimed at enhancing quality, improving data integrity, optimizing cost-efficiency, and reducing timelines; where applicable, lead innovations in methodology or processes to deliver measurable business benefits.Qualifications and SkillsEssential: Master’s degree in a relevant discipline; recognized professional qualification; expertise in biostatistics; proven ability to lead functional and cross-functional teams; demonstrated leadership in motivating and empowering teams; comprehensive knowledge of drug development and commercialization processes; capability to set and direct global priorities, resources, and projects; experience managing teams in a global context; strong conceptual and strategic thinking skills; ability to strategically influence and tactfully persuade.Desirable: PhD in a scientific discipline; recognized expert with a strong reputation in business and industry; extensive knowledge of the latest technical and regulatory expectations; operational expertise in risk management and contingency planning; familiarity with the latest research and developments; effective problem-solving and conflict resolution skills; proven team-oriented approach; comprehensive knowledge of AstraZeneca policies, procedures, and guidelines.Key Relationship to Reach SolutionsInternal: Senior Management within AstraZeneca; Pharmaceutical Development; Regulatory; Global and regional Biostatistics sites; Global Quality; Supply ChainExternal: External professional and regulatory organizations
